Lameness Locator

lameness locator

The Lameness Locator is a field-based system to definitively measure what we see during an exam in an extremely accurate and precise way. Sensors are placed on your horse and data is transmitted in real-time to a handheld device resembling an iPad for analysis and objective reporting.

Lameness Locator data gathered before and after blocks to left fore. On the left, before the block, the blue lines indicate lameness to left fore. On the right, is after the block, which now shows significantly less impact on left fore.

Lameness Locator enables a veterinarian to objectively identify lameness in horses, reducing the time from evaluation to localization to treatment. The system provides an analysis that indicates whether the horse is lame, the severity of the lameness, the limb or limbs involved, and the part of the motion cycle at which peak pain is occurring.

The Lameness Locator is portable, accurate, and fast. The system is designed to be used where ever lameness evaluations take place. The sensors are small and non-invasive. They track movement accurately within millimeters. More than 40 veterinary colleges around the globe are training the next generation of veterinarians using the Lameness Locator.
